Project Kenya

This January, Velocity is heading back to Kenya on a recce trip ahead of a much bigger charity build and we’re not going alone.  We’re proud to be teaming up with our mates PowerToolMate alongside the brilliant charity vision4Kids and our sister company Tool Monster, to scope, plan, and deliver a project that leaves a real legacy - not just a quick fix.

This isn’t a jolly. It’s boots on the ground, tape measures out, plans getting drawn, and work getting done properly.

What’s the mission?
On the main trip, the team will be rolling up their sleeves to deliver:
🔧 First & second fix work in a preschool
🚽 A brand-new toilet block — safe, clean, and fit for purpose
🛝 A proper playpark where kids can learn and play safely
☀️ Solar panels to bring reliable, sustainable power
In total, over 200 children at the main school will directly benefit from safer facilities, better learning spaces, and long-term improvements.

Building with communities
This is a big one for us. We don’t just fly in, build, and leave. Every project is done side-by-side with local tradespeople and community teams already on the ground. That means:
🤝 Working alongside local builders and contractors
🧰 Donating tools and equipment that stay in the community
🛠️ Sharing trade skills and techniques — from fixing methods to safer installs
📐 Learning from local knowledge so what we build actually lasts
The goal is simple: Leave behind upgraded facilities, skills, tools and confidence.

Why Kenya? Why vision4kids?
vision4kids has a proven track record of delivering practical, on-the-ground projects that genuinely improve children’s lives. We’ve seen it before. We’ve been part of it before. And that’s exactly why we’re going back.

How you can get involved 👇
Via this page you can donate to the pre-school build and we'll ensure all donations go directly to this project.  No management overheads, no travel costs, no deductions, not even by vision4kids who are volunteer led.  Every donation goes to the work.
