This year Stephen is back on Church Street for his 24-hour charity sit-out raising funds for children’s charity vision4kids. As always, every penny raised will go directly to the running of the charity’s mission school in Kiambururu, Kenya. The donations from each sit-out provide a pivotal boost to school funds and ensure the continued running of Grace Academy.
With 180 pupils, our school provides a safe learning environment while teaching the children from God’s Word. School meals, health screening, home visits, clothing, uniforms, pupil sponsorship, and medical expenses are all provided with funds being raised from faithful donors and fundraising events such as this sit-out. Your donation whether large or small will have a profound impact on a child from this poor village of Kiambururu.
Our school meals programme provides local Uji porridge in the morning and a cooked meal of rice, maize, beans, and vegetables in the afternoon. It costs around £4,500 per year to fund this, that’s £375 per month, or approximately £90 per week. We spend £35 per month on medicines and often fund additional surgical and medical procedures. This is a small example of some of the costs for running our school.
Thank you for considering vision4kids for a donation – and thank you for your support.
